2003
After years of experience in strategy consulting and in investment banking already 100% focused on high-tech start-ups in the mate 90s/early 2000s, the founding team formed Clipperton in September 2003.

2004
First transaction closed with a cros-border capital raise: the $10m equity round for KXEN, a B2B predictive analytics software company with the first investment in Europe of the US corporate investor Motorola Ventures along the first investment of the newly formed French VC XAnge. KXEN got eventually acquired by SAP in 2013.

2006
Thomas Neveux joins Clipperton.
Capital raise for leading digital media newcomer Dailymotion with Partech International and US-fund Atlas Venture.

2009
Thibaut Revel joins Clipperton, before the opening of our London office to accompany our European coverage, leading to our first transactions with European high-growth companies such as Ad-tech Swedish company Videoplaza (eventually acquired by Ooyola in 2014) or e-commerce British player Secret Sales.

Trade-sale of Dailymotion to Orange for $170m.

2013
100th mandate signed.
Opening of our Berlin office to follow our deepening coverage of Continental Europe including DACH (Germany/Austria/Switzerland) as illustrated by our transactions with Moviepilot, AsGoosAsNew etc.

200th mandate signed.
Strategic partnership arranged between AramisAuto and PSA Peugeot-Citroën.
Capital raise for Berlin-based POS company Gastrofix with Endeit Capital and the Raderberger Group.

2018
Natixis becomes a minority shareholder, Clipperton joins their M&A global alliance to foster their tech coverage: more than 300 bankers active on every major continent - notably Solomon Partners in the US and Vermilion Partners in China.

2019
300th mandate signed.
Opening of our Munich office.
6 cross-border M&A transactions this year including France/UK (Matooma/Wireless Logic), France/Germany (Sculpteo/BASF), Germany/Japan (NetRange/Access) and Germany/Canada (Gastrofix trade-sale to Lightspeed POS Inc for $125m).

Appointment of Partner Dr. Nikolas Westphal in our Berlin office.
Advised 17 transactions, including landmarks deals such as Sendinblue's growth equity funding round of $160m, the $60m financing round of Withings and the sale of Potager City to Carrefour (ENXTPA:CA).

Advised on 30 deals in 2021, of which 60% are cross-border.
Clipperton was proud to announce acting as financial advisor on landmark deals such as the $150m growth financing of DentalMonitoring led by Merieux Equity Partners, the take-private of Artefact by Ardian Expansion and the sale of Packlink to Auctane.

Reaching a team of over 50 investment bankers.
Advised on 30 deals including Braincube's €83m growth financing led by Scottish Equity Partners, Bridepoint's majority stake acquisition in Groupe Sinari and Welcome to the Jungle's €50m series C.

Partnership renewal with Natixis.
Reached +400 transactions closed such as VadeSecure sale to Hornet Security and Eurazeo investing in Rydoo alongside Marlin Equity Partners.
